Writing for Legal Administrators

 

Description:

Learn how to write and be heard! Join this webinar to explore how a few key writing tips can improve your message and enhance your writing experience. Whether you are writing a detailed analytical memo, an important e-mail message, a request for proposal, or any of the myriad types of administrative writing, you will learn how to break through writer’s block, write with confidence, and maintain professional credibility through clear, active and persuasive writing.  
 
Objectives:

  • Identify how write clearly and persuasively
  • Determine how to get your written message heard
  • Establish/maintain your credibility by avoiding common mistakes
  • Describe how to break through writer’s block

Kathryn Wyatt, Assistant Attorney General, Government Operations Division, joined the Washington Attorney General’s Office from the faculty of Gonzaga University School of Law where she taught legal research and writing. She moved to the Pacific Northwest after many years in Illinois, where she taught high school English, worked as an account executive at several Chicago public relations firms, served as law clerk for Illinois Supreme Court Justice Benjamin K. Miller, and practiced complex litigation and appellate law with Lord, Bissell & Brook.  She holds a MA in Journalism from Northern Illinois University, and JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
