  • Tuesday, October 21, 2014
  • 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Broward county Public Schools

Volunteers are need to work with Hands On Broward on Tuesday, October 21 from 8 am – 12 pm.  Each volunteer will read one book, “Bunny Cakes” to a classroom in Broward County.

Jumpstart's Read for the Record® campaign mobilizes millions of children and adults to celebrate literacy by participating in the largest shared reading experience.  Join us on October 21, 2014, as we read together in big cities, small towns, and everywhere in between to put children first by shining a spotlight on the importance of high-quality early education.

Locally, the Children's Services Council of Broward County and Broward County Public Schools are coordinating Broward Reads for the Record.  On October 21 between 8:00 AM and 12 noon, volunteers are needed at area child care centers and elementary schools to read "Bunny Cakes," a comical story of sibling bonding and birthday shenanigans, to 40,000 students in 500 VPK centers, 225 schools and 1,500 classrooms throughout Broward County!
